Small Group Study

Biblical Financial Small Group Study

“Crown Ministries has been vital in the life of our congregation by helping persons achieve financial peace. In addition, people are learning practical financial steps and to seek first God’s kingdom with their finances.” – David Cooper, Sr. Pastor

A 10-week in-depth study of what scripture teaches about money and possessions. Graduates have confirmed that marriages are being strengthened and individuals are finding their way out of debt. They are also becoming consistent savers, generous givers, and prudent consumers. Most importantly, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word. Groups meet for 2 hours every week and include scripture memorization and interactive discussions.

Requirements For Participation:

  • Daily prayer for each member of your group
  • Memorize one assigned scripture each week
  • Complete weekly homework assignments-both Bible study and practical application. (approximately 2 hours of homework per week)
  • Attend a minimum of 8 of the 10 classes

Many people are experiencing financial challenges. But did you know that the Bible contains 2,350 verses dealing with money? Many Christians have been taught what the Bible says about how to handle 10 percent of their income – the area of giving. Although this is crucial, they need to understand God’s perspective of managing the rest of their money as well.

This study is one of the most remarkably effective ways to find biblically based answers to your financial questions and difficulties. Through in-depth teaching in a small-group setting, it trains individuals in only 10 weeks to use money in eternally significant ways that benefit you and your church. This study is the number one resource for transforming the mind and heart of an individual regarding attitudes about money.

Topics include:

  • Getting Out Of Debt
  • Spending
  • Saving
  • Investing
  • Budgeting
  • Giving
  • Earning Money
  • Training Children

Collegiate Biblical Financial Study

College students today are facing difficult financial challenges. Credit card debt and even student gambling are rapidly growing problems on campus, and the American Bankruptcy Institute reveals that 19 percent of the people who filed for bankruptcy last year were college students. That means one in five bankruptcy filings were by very young people who started their lives as financial failures. But, did you know that the Bible contains 2,350 verses that deal with money and possessions?

Many Christians have been taught what the Bible says about how to handle 10 percent of their income-the area of giving. However, it is crucial that students on the verge of beginning their careers and families understand God's perspective on how to handle the other 90 percent as well.

Students will learn what Scripture teaches about managing all their possessions. Each time students learn a principle, there is a financial exercise to help them apply it. College is one of the most formative times in a person's life. What a wonderful opportunity to equip young people to be faithful financially for the rest of their lives!

There are four requirements for students participating in this study:

  • Daily prayer for each member of your group
  • Memorize one assigned scripture each week
  • Complete weekly homework assignments-both Bible study and practical application. (approximately 2 hours of homework per week)
  • Attend a minimum of 8 of the 10 classes

Course Topics:

  • God's Part-Personal Financial Statement/Recording Income & Spending
  • Our Part-Deed/Career and Financial Goals
  • Work-Resume/Job Interview

Statement of Faith

- We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is without error in all its teaching.

- We believe that there is one God, Lord of the universe, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His perfect, sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to heaven to the right hand of God the Father; and in His personal and visible return in power and glory.

- We believe that all people are lost sinners and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

- We believe that all people will be resurrected-those who are saved to eternal life and those who are lost to eternal damnation.

- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

- We believe that God, as Creator, is the ultimate Owner of all possessions on earth. God has given people the authority to be stewards of those possessions and the responsibility to faithfully manage them according to the principles in the Word of God.
